An Old West Comedy

I've been in love with movies since before I can even remember. I love all the genres, except Horror. If I must, I will watch it, but don't expect me to write about them... Sorry.
A few days ago, my brother, Todd, and his girlfriend, Heidi, had come over for a movie night. Heidi had never seen my personal movie collection of 10 maybe 15 movies... Not as many as the word "collection" might imply, but, when I showed it to her, it made her say, "Wow." She scanned through a variety of titles and said she didn't see any that caught her eye, so I brought her to our front room where our TV is located.
When we arrived back in the living room, dad and Todd were having a debate between which movies we should watch. I pulled open the doors to our entertainment center and showed Heidi the insane amount of movies we had so she could pick something. However, while she was looking, I saw our Mel Brook's Films collection and it hit me!
"Hey guys, why don't we watch 'Blazing Saddles?'"

"Blazing Saddles" is a comedy based in the late 1800s after the slaves were freed. The main character, Bart, becomes the sheriff of an all white town and must face the trials of winning respect in the town, Rock Ridge... And a few other villains, as well.

It's a great movie! Mel Brooks is one of the best comedy screenwriters/actors of the time. We all gathered around the TV and watched 'Blazing Saddles". Unfortunately, my DVD Player wasn't working right, so we had to suffer watching it with subtitles. It turned out to be even funnier that way because words we missed or thought were different were shown correctly, for the most part, underneath the picture. I say, "For the most part" because all the western slang was shown as the proper way to pronounce the words or phrases, which also added to the story.

I recommend this movie to anyone who loves to watch hilarious movies... Mind you that it is rated 'R', and I don't think children under a certain age should watch it as it does have some racists jokes.

  1. One of my favorites ever.
Mel Brooks is a funny guy and his crew adds to the insanity.
